Responsibilities
Cathy is a Principal of the firm and leads our West Coast practice. She has extensive experience in general liability, environmental liability, surety, professional liability, risk financing issues for large insured and self-insured programs, and all other risk management challenges and opportunities. Her clients include transportation agencies, airports, hospital organizations, universities, and various cities and counties throughout the nation.
Experience
Cathy has 35 years of experience in insurance and risk management including insurance underwriting, insurance brokerage, workers’ compensation claims administration, public entity risk management, and risk management consulting with a specialty in risk financing issues for public entities.
Prior to joining Albert Risk, Cathy had an 18 year underwriting and insurance brokerage career before moving into the public sector working at the California State Office of Risk Management and the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) where she set up the Office of Risk Management overseeing state-wide transportation and risk issues. Afterwards, Cathy joined Bickmore, where she headed the risk management consulting practice.
Cathy has been a speaker at various risk management conferences throughout the country including the International Risk Management Institute (IRMI), Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS) Western Regional Conference, the American Public Transportation Association (APTA) Risk Management Conference, Financial Executives International (FEI) Sacramento and San Francisco Chapters, Airport Council International (ACI) and the Public Agency Risk Management Association (PARMA) Annual Conference.
