Consultant Position

 

REMOTE on Pacific Standard Time (FULL TIME or PART TIME)

Who we are

Albert Risk www.albertrisk.com is an independent risk management and insurance consulting firm. We do not sell insurance.  We provide objective third-party advice on a billable hour basis like a law firm or accounting firm.  We are looking for a consultant for our West Coast client base of varied industries and public sector entities who have particular risk management needs involving the full range of perils involving real estate and construction.
 

Who you are: 

 

  • 5-10 years of experience in the Insurance industry, preferably in consulting or brokerage or equivalent. 

  • Property and Casualty insurance experience across all lines of insurance. 

  • General awareness of industry practices and trends. 

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent. 

  • U.S. Citizenship or Permanent Resident status. 

  • Ability to simplify and communicate complex insurance and risk management strategies in a way non-insurance executives can understand.

  • Skilled at negotiating insurance terms including premium rating details.

  • Genuinely enjoy developing interpersonal relationships with clients and colleagues and willing to deliver bad news in person (albeit virtually).

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and meet client deadlines and use technology to 

  • collaborate with work colleagues and third parties.

  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, MS Teams and other Office applications.

  • Capacity to be diligent in tracking your time for billing purposes.


Insurance Consultant Responsibilities 

 

  • Conduct technical insurance policy reviews. Review insurance policy language for contractual compliance and efficacy while providing feedback and recommendations for betterment.

  • Collaborate with the firm’s practice leaders and clients’ insurance decision makers to ensure all risk exposures are addressed.

  • Lead aspects of the insurance renewal and proposal development process.

  • Analyze claims data.

  • Analyze and develop strategies to ensure vendor insurance compliance.

  • Oversee insurance broker relationships.

  • Create and present formal reports on risk exposure, analysis, and insurance coverage to practice leaders and clients.

  • Cope with challenging situations and adapt to client needs.
