Responsibilities

Joan provides independent consultation to businesses on risk management, insurance, claims and captives, along with other risk treatment programs, focusing on real estate clients.

Experience

Prior to joining Albert Risk Management Consultants, Joan was Director, Risk and Insurance Consulting at Bickmore, specializing in real estate and development clients.   Other positions include a risk consulting role at Nelson & Bernstein, and  as an insurance broker for Marsh and a broker specializing in private equity transactions. Joan was  Vice President of Risk Management with Safeway, responsible for the insured and self-insured programs for the grocery retailer, including an extensive global property insurance placement. Prior to Safeway, Joan was at Lucky Stores and Pacific Telesis Group. Joan began her career in claims, so can help advocate for coverage when there are issues and move claims to conclusion.
